We love Porto Scoutari Hotel the most out of all the hotels on the island of Patmos. The hotel itself is very beautiful, it is authentically decorated in Greek island style and the atmosphere is wonderfully romantic. Patmos Island has to be the best island in the world. Little did we know how unique and amazing our villa in Patmos would be when booking from U.S. My husband and I have never experiences authentic love and generosity in our travels. We have had one of the most restful holidays that we have ever had. The Porto Scoutari Hotel is beautifully sitauated, decorated, and appointed; and is run to extremely high standards. We have visited many Greek Islands over the years, and although Patmos does not have the archaeological sites that we like to visit, it is a very interesting and attractive island. My wife and I stayed at Porto Scoutari for four nights and it was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the people very friendly. The view was so beautiful and the room extremely large for an island hotel. The island has so much Christian history and being an Orthodox Christian just added to the experience. A note to North Americans – it is custom on the island to use solar power to heat the water, so morning showers can be rather cold. Just think of it as getting into the local culture. If your travels take you near the Dodecanese Islands of Greece, then you must consider visting the island of Patmos. Though the hotel is not for everyone, those that desire a romantic getaway will fall in love with this paradise on the lovliest island in the Aegean.
