How to get to Patmos Island, Greece

Why is Patmos so unique?

 Because there is not airport in the island!

 

HOW TO REACH PATMOS ISLAND: In line with our goal to exceed your expectations, we would like to assist you, making your journey from your home city to Patmos as pleasant as possible. If this is your first time coming to the island you might find the following information useful. There are several ways to connect to Patmos Island during the day with Piraeus, Samos, Rhodes and Kos. Generally speaking the yearly schedules are as follows:

Samos-Patmos: Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 14:00. This service is available with regular schedule ferry which takes approximately 3 hours and costs roughly 15 euro.
Patmos-Samos: Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 10:30. This service is available with regular schedule ferry which takes approximately 3 hours and costs roughly 15 euro.
Kos-Patmos: Every Day except Monday, at 10:40. This service is available with catamaran which takes approximately 2 hours and costs roughly 17 euro. Please click the following link to view the Dodecanisos Seaways website and schedules. Also with Blue Star Ferries every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 20:00. It takes about 2:30 hours.
Patmos-Kos: Every Day except Monday, at 14:00, arriving at 16:10, with the catamaran, which takes approximately 2 hours and costs roughly 17 euro. Also with Blue Star Ferries every Tuesday, Thursday at 02:00 and Sunday at 07:00. It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Kos.
Piraeus-Patmos: Alternately, you can also reach Patmos Island from Piraeus, via the luxurious Blue Star Ferries. The Blue Star Ferry takes approximately 7 hours and 30 minutes and the ticket costs 34 euro per person (without cabin) but is a very scenic and comfortable journey. At the moment, the lavish Blue Star leaves Piraeus every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 19:00. Starting June 20th, 2011 though, Blue Star will depart every Saturday night, instead of Fridays, at 23:30. Please click the following link for the Blue Star website and schedules.
Patmos-Piraeus: The boat leaves Patmos Island every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 23:00 and arrives back to Piraeus at 07:00, the next morning.
Blue Star Ferries : If you fly into Athens International Airport, the easiest connection is the Blue Star Ferry from Piraeus. Alternative you can fly to Kos Island and then catching the Catamaran or the Blue Star to Patmos Island. The Taxi from Athens International Airport to the port of Piraeus takes about 45 minutes and it costs around 30 euro.
Blue Star Reservations & Tickets : If you need a reservation and a cabin at Blue Star Ferries, we will be glad to arrange it for you. We will give you a reservation code and your tickets will be ready for you to pickup at the Blue Star Ferries kiosk, located directly outside the ship, in the harbor of Piraeus. If you are not requiring a cabin, please proceed to the kiosk to buy your seat tickets at least 1 hour and 30 minutes  prior to sailing. If you plan to go back to Athens for your flight home, it is advisable to book a flight that departs Athens Airport, sometimes after 11:00 a.m., unless you are planning to spent a day or so in Athens. Blue Star Ferries depart and arrive in the harbor of Piraeus on Exit # E1.
Transfers: Port/Hotel/Port: As soon as we have your arrival details, we will arrange a private transfer for you. Our driver will meet you outside the main gate at the port, holding a placard with Porto Scoutari's sign to bring you to the hotel.
