The ceremony, based on the New Testament, has been maintained only in the most important religious centers of the Byzantine world: Jerusalem, Rome, Constantinople and Patmos.
- The Religious Music Festival of Patmos entitled “The Holy Revelation of Music,” in the two first weeks of September. The “musical journey,” is a cultural institution with religious and Byzantine music, a special festival among few in the Orthodox world, which takes place in the small picturesque theatre by the cave of the Revelation.
